Welcome to Fantasy Hurricane League beta!

Fantasy Hurricane League is like fantasy sports for hurricane forecasting. The purpose is to have fun and increase severe weather awareness among those in vulnerable areas.

As this is a beta, functionality will likely change over the course of hurricane season. I will implement a feedback tool soon. Please submit bugs and feedback to help improve the service.

Currently Fantasy Hurricane League only tracks hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin.

Rules

League Setup

Anybody can create a new league.
League commisioner (user who creates the league) invites members to the league.
Members make their preseason picks (number of storms for the season, max storm severity of the season).
Once all members have made their preseason picks, the commisioner starts the league.

Individual Storm Picks

After the league starts, members place their picks for individual storms (storm formation date, max severity, and landfall location). Storm picks lock for a period of time each time they're made, so make them count!
Once a storm forms (becomes a named tropical storm), members can place/update their picks for the next storms. Members cannot make picks for active or previous storms.

Scoring

Score points for accuracy of storm picks and preseason picks.
Members see how well they are performing in each of their leagues via leaderboard.
